BYU would be leaving ESPN to sign for more money with an unproven TV partner that has, if not limited, then certainly different distribution across the country.
I'm not saying it's an awful idea (well, sort of I am saying that), but I do think that BYU learned some things since the last time they tried to think outside the box, things like:
The extra money isn't that great if your games are on a channel that lots of people don't have
It's not so bad playing on weeknights & Saturday nights
It's really hard to schedule games as an independent, and ESPN helps with that
People will see you play simply because they turn on ESPN and watch whatever game is on
