How does Utah being in the PAC 12 effect BYU? I can't agree with this. Utah
doesn't get the elite instate kids either. They go out of state in the majority of cases.
Head to head, when a kid does stay in state, it's pretty even between BYU and Utah, even since Utah joined the PAC 12. Now we do also have USU to contend with and some kids just choose to play there. That never happened before.
Utah has had better recruiting classes overall since being in the PAC 12 but most of the kids who sign with Utah have never had an offer from BYU. We don't go head to head very often.
As a result Utah is deeper than they ever have been and the recruits they are getting are better than what they used to get. But most of those kids are from Cal, TX, FL, Louisiana and key players from JC.
Utah has better coaches overall than BYU in football.
