If I had a kid with major D-1 talent and multiple schollie offers,

I would think long and hard about all his options before encouraging him to go to BYU. It wouldn't be a given. As a fan, you love the school and the team, but you want to send your kids to a place where they can develop their talent. BYU football will continue to struggle with recruiting because of this.
