In fact, it's near impossible. I couldn't get federal funding even tho my Dad was between jobs and neither my Mom or I could work full-time because of our visa status. I had to go through different avenues to get money to pay tuition and would pay whatever I could by picking up odd jobs and donating plasma.

Eventually, I was able to use funding from my home country to pull me through until I got married and was able to get a green card. Once that happened I started working full time to pay for my tuition.

I get that you want your kid to learn to be responsible but you're hypocrisy is laughable. You brag about saving for your kid's school and how you and your wife both drive Audi's. So, which is it? Did you save money to pay your kids tuition or is he all on his own? If you have the means to help your kid then this is your fault, not the government's otherwise you're taking away from a student who really does need the help.
