OSU, WSU...can say the same thing about their schudules...
my point is, the schedule is not your doing - you got lucky enough to get in PAC and they handed you a schedule. I always wondered why BYU would continuously get invited to play in "preseason" matchups at neutral site games to kick off the year...but Utah NEVER did, still doesn't, even after the BCS bowls elevated them so much a P5 conference just had to take them.
The reason is simple, it's not the multitudes of Y fans all over the country - it's the recognizable brand BYU Football has that generates enough interest nationally. No it's not close to Notre Dame level but enough to move the needle from a network's point of view.

When you say "a home slate better than any BYU has had in its history.." it implies an accomplishment you've made in regards to the amount of work needed to put together a strong home schedule...or that BYU and Utah go about filling a schedule the same way. Not even close. But when BYU and Utah were scheduling when they were in the Mtn West or WAC...it was BYU hosting games with the top programs around the country and being invited to play in Kickoff Classics - not Utah.
