Utah got in because a conference up against the west coast needed two schools. It was discussed / published by many papers in the west that if it was up to athletic directors in the PAC - BYU would have been in decades ago. As much as you think it was about the 2 recent strong seasons Utah had, Colorado had fallen off the face of the earth in recent decades. As an ALUF, as your name implies - don't you feel a little bit that what you believe in is the real reason BYU wasn't invited to the liberal PAC 10 and Utah was?

At the end of the day...life isn't fair, Y fans may complain but BYU has continued to make the best of the hand they were dealt. Indy may or may not have been a long term goal (probably was in 2011 or whenever they did it) but things change. I have no idea if the Big12 is even the best move for BYU now, but if they get an invite, they need to take it. From an athletic program point they totally belong with the PAC or Big 12.

If I were in your shoes, I would be on cloud nine as well...but the level in which ute fans have convinced themselves of all things BYU and Utah is incredible. That's a very broad brush I'm using - but personally, (this is where this can get sideways), if I was an ALUF, it would be hard to continue from the amount of ute fans that are so against what I believe, the hate towards BYU that is taught from day one of a freshman player's orientation to the program...(heard directly from a former ute player that still loves the utes). It's not healthy... and as much as your fan base wants to think the program is so much better, their actions say they really believe otherwise. Are they currently in a better position, yes but you can tell they are hoping no invite for the Cougs comes because they will lose what they perceive as an advantage.

We definitely have the most interesting rivalry in the nation.
