This is a real issue for all but Football every other sport has tournaments etc
that require Sunday Play. When my daughter made her first Little League All Star team as a 9 year old the League Softball VP said that Sunday play was required. Some tournament schedules were not controlled by the local district and there was a possibility of Sunday games. I fortunately had a relationship with the All star coach and we had an understanding. We avoided any conflicts that year and subsequently the VP and I became great friends and I became the League President and we for my tenure never had a Sunday game or Sunday play requirement.

But my daughter also played Club Soccer again we allowed her to be recruited with the understanding that Sunday play was not an option. we are talking 9 years old. It didn't need to be an option. But as she was the team's top goal scorer it became a problem for others. By the time she was 12 it drove her to decide to quit. She led a top 3 team in Arizona in scoring never playing on Sundays but we had so much pressure from other parents one of whom was also LDS but played. My daughter chose to quit and go back to rec socccer. A local sports radio guy (John Gambadoro - PHX) also had a daughter on the team and he could not wrap his head around it. 1/2 that team played College Soccer.

Eventually my daughter gave up soccer but continued to play Softball. She was the only girl on her Varsity team that didn't play club ball. And it drove a lot parents nuts that my daughter started over their club girls.
A girl that she switched playing Short or 3rd with on her 7th & 8th Grade team. My daughter played short when the other girl pitched. The other girl is a member of BYU's Softball team and she played club ball. My daughter batted 3rd and she batted 4th. My daughter was the team MVP. I truly believe if my daughter had played club she would be at BYU right now in either sport if the pressure to play Sunday ball wasn't on her.

For my boys I took matters into my own hands and took my amazing Rec Soccer Team to Club with no Sunday Play. Yes we forfeited championship or elimination games on Sunday. I was the Farm team for the more established Local Club teams. Those that wanted to play Sunday I would give waivers to so they could play Tournaments with other local teams and then play Maricopa Open League or Bimbolito with my team on Friday's and Saturday's. I am pretty proud of the fact that every kid made their High School teams that I coached. I went to a Perry v Gilbert game this past year and at 1 point I had 8 kids on the field. I now have had 3 play JC soccer would probably have a few more if the Mormon kids didn't take off on missions. But I have a picture from team when they were all 12. 9 of 10 mormon boys all served missions. The brother of one of the non mormons has been baptized ( I did coach him one summer indoor soccer).

For Softball I know if the girls don't play up in the Utah Triple Crown Tournament they wouldn't get a sniff from BYU coaches
