Given that there are 347 Division I schools in the NCAA - this list actually
supports the idea that compared to most fanbases, BYU fans are NOT cheapskates. It's true that we don't drink alcohol much, or gamble as much as others, but BYU Athletics would not be in the black if BYU fans were as cheap as they are reputed to be.
Also, with 66 P5 schools NOT counting BYU, at #49 BYU fans fall well within that range of schools as well. We don't have to be in the top 10 or 25 when it comes to spending money - especially given many of the points that have been made by others on this thread (i.e. How many fan bases have as many large families as BYU has AND pay 10% of their income to their church?).
Disclaimer: I'm all FOR our fans spending more and ESPECIALLY donating to BYU and its athletics program. However, I don't think demeaning BYU fans and calling us cheap is the best way to motivate us to give more to BYU. And, yes, IMO everyone here on CB should also be Cougar Club members given that it is only $5 a month.

With a $50k donation you can get 50 yard line seats in LES. I can't imagine a donation of this size would get you

I could be wrong but I'd guess that the seats in section 34 weren't available by the time it was a $10k donor's turn
