I get what you're saying. However - last fall (before even ONE game under Detmer's offense) people were talking about how Tanner needed to be the starting QB because Taysom just didn't have accuracy as a passer.

Some of the discussion revolved around something from Steve Young's book - in which he said something along the lines of passers either have it, or they don't. And if they don't, they never will be an elite passer. Many used that quote to say that Taysom didn't have it in him, and Tanner should be starting.

Again - this was before even one single game played in Detmer's offense.


Now - I'm smart enough to see that this argument could be used against Detmer as an OC. Taysom's short time in the NFL in pre-season duty has shown that he is a pretty talented QB. And Mangum's performances pre-Detmer could lead someone to propose that the one common factor in Taysom and Mangum performing poorly is Detmer. I'm not ready to go there.
