and knows how to breakdown and read a defense. Inside of a solid scheme he would be a great QB coach, unfortunately putting together that scheme and play calling have not proven to be things he does well at this point. I think the double duty has resulted in not being as effective as a QB coach as he could be because the overall scheme has been a wreck, which likely consumes most of his time.
One thing that is important in a QB coach is a calm, even keeled demeanor and the ability to keep your charges from getting too high/low. Ty's knowledge and personality make him a good choice for that position, without the burden of overseeing the whole offense. He could also go upstairs and be a valuable asset to both the OC and QB since he does understand defenses so well.
