Bronco was all in on recruiting LB's and Safeties. Not so much on OL's and DL's
...or FG kickers. Kaufusi often had little to work with and still coached them up. When you consider what he was given to work with he made guys produce better than the talent they had. There were a few years we ran with Russell Tialavea at NT and he weighed barely 260 lbs and we had some pretty good defenses.
If anything, the LB's were better last year with Tuiaki coaching them and the DL was better with Kaufusi, switch them back.
