I too hope that Max Hall develops two skills that
have hampered him during his career.

1. Looking off his primary receiver

2. Pump fake

Those two skills are the difference between winning and losing against Utah, not TCU, but Utah. The safeties and even defensive linemen were jumping Max Hall's passing lanes with such great ease because he suffers from laser lock. The defensive line quit pressing and just waited to bat the ball down. The safeties had time to run across the field and help the corners because there is no mystery when it comes to Hall's target.

If Hall even had a pump fake the number of batted balls would decrease dramatically, but if he could learn to not stare at his primary/intended target he would go from being a good quarterback to a Heisman finalist in one season.

Yes, I think Hall cost BYU the Utah game, with a little help from Anae. Someone should have realized that throwing wasn't working and running was. Yes, Hall has some very obvious flaws and I hope he has improved before BYU runs into Oklahoma.
