Porterie is OK. Dalton is OK, but far from consistent, and terrible if pressured at all. Clayton is probably the second best in the league, but we'll see how he does without Summers. SDSU's QB is my prediction to put up the second highest stats behind Hall.
Of course assuming that all Qbs remain healthy all season.
Hall's numbers to date are far superior to any other league QB, and now he gets his toughest games at home. If he plays every game, he will put up monster numbers.
Package it how you Will So Cal Pat, Hall is now in his third season, and has delivered far more clutch wins than any other QB in this league. Yes, he had two pretty ugle meltdowns too, but given another year to grow and learn, I doubt we see anything like that again in MWC play. Oklahoma may overwhelm the whole BYU team, but that is the only game that has that potential.
And quit downplaying Johnson's inconsistency as a Jr on injury. There was no complaining from Utah fans when Utah was on a multi-game win streak leading up to BYU in Provo. Only when we stymied him and made him look purely average did those excuses return. No one was touting his hurt shoulder after the Wyoming stomping. Johnson progressed a ton between his Jr to Sr seasons, and even during his senior season.
Expect similar improvement from Max Hall. To expect less, is ridiculous and shows one's bias.
