Hall did not have many turnovers until he played
good teams. In three games, also losses, also the best defensive teams BYU played last season, Hall had 13 personal turnovers combining INTs and fumbles.

He threw exactly 1 TD pass in those games combined. 1 TD pass in 3 games. Pressure, predictability, poor decisions. Collie and Pitta bailed him out many times in 09'. Collie is gone.

So he has won lots of games. What big game has he won? He is 1-1 in bowl games against the 5th best PAC 10 team each of those seasons. Beating UCLA with a lucky block of a field goal that would have won the game. Hall did nothing in the second half. Nothing. BYU won by one point.

BYU barely beat Washington, who did not win one game the entire season. Most teams killed them, even at home. New Mexico held BYU to 21 total points. I believe ZERO in the first quarter and the final TD was late in the 4th quarter. That was at LES. New Mexico won 4 total games. UNLV nearly beat BYU at LES. You have to play them in Vegas this season. CSU nearly beat BYU. Both of the last games were last minute, come back wins for BYU. Those teams were not good. Utah killed each of them.

At least Utah's close games were against highly ranked teams. Oh, yeah, we won them.

Utah State held BYU scoreless in two quarters last season. USU won the second half of that game. BYU was very frustrated. 15 personal fowls to prove it. Brutal.

So, new O line and new receivers and BYU will be better in 09? Will the defense be better? Maybe. They better be way, way better. You play some good teams in 09.

Enjoy watching Heaps and your 2010 recruiting class in High School next season. They certainly have you and all of BYUnation frothed up. Saddly, you won't see many of them for 3-4 seasons.

You have to play 09' with what you have. Talk yourselves into a great season again. It is classic BYU. A set up for dissapointment. You always do it to yourselves. Look at what you did against good teams last season. Not impressive.

You have a HC that has never been on a truly winning team or program prior to being a head coach. He has been impressive as HC at BYU but.... Does he know how to get there? He hated BYU before coaching there. Can he get you over the hump? I am guessing no.
