I'm a hard-science guy and too much soft-science is passed-off

as "settled science". Establishing small nuggets of truth via pure scientific method tends to be difficult and painstaking. There are also some endeavors where scientific method is likely a poor tool for establishing truth. Additionally, many concepts which are in the hypothesis or experimentation stages are treated as though they are already factual. This is actually a disservice to scientific method. Too much emotion gets attached to what should be totally devoid of emotional investment.
