My problem is with the “halo effect”...giving those who are experts in one
area complete credibility in all areas.
Also, there is a political element to it. People try to use experts to push political agendas, even though other experts might contradict their position. This is why we get actors singing ‘imagine’ while being stinking rich or Bill Nye as an ‘expert’ in climate change when he isn’t even a scientist.
