Honestly, it takes a full year minimum to come back from an ACL and be reasonably effective. But it’s even better if you have more than that. Rising is going to have a year and nearly 8 months.
we are still almost 6 months from the start of the season and there are videos available from Utah’s strength and conditioning with Rising as a full participant. You can watch him cut and accelerate, and in all the clips I have seen, he seems like the fastest guy in every single one of his groups. He looks great. However, if you watched videos of him from four months ago, he had a huge brace on his knee and still showed a noticeable limp.
This is a guy who knows the system like the back of his hand. He’s a really good decision-maker. He can read defenses as well as anyone and select the correct play. He’s gritty and tough and a great team leader. With more than a year and a half after his injury, he will be back to full speed.
His weapons will include Dorian Singer, Carson Ryan, and Brant Kuithe. All of them are very high level players who weren’t on the team last year. Can Kuithe stay healthy? Who knows. But the also have Landon King, who was a young emerging TE last year, to go along with Ryan if Kuithe goes down.
People who are ranking Utah Hi are looking at more than just Cam and a good defense. It’s about coaching, special teams, and new weapons on offense in addition to their experienced quarterback and new transfer weapons
And Yeah, most teams are screwed if their starting quarterback goes down.
