I'd argue it's more along the lines of one overperformance, one underperformance, and one push
  • 2021 Utah started out ranked #24 and finished #12 - overperformance
  • 2022 Utah started out ranked #7 and finished #10 - basically as expected
  • 2023 Utah started out ranked #14 and finished unranked - underperformance

If you want to be a Utah apologist, you point out the extremely tough injury realities for 2023 to excuse that year. If you want to attack Utah, you point out the general PAC underperformance for 2021 to excuse that year.

There's some truth to both, but the reality is that Utah (like most teams) tends to perform about as expected, with occasional surprise years in either direction.
