fact it is owned by the LDS church. That will naturally limit the fast athletes we need to compete at top 15 levels. Sure we get a few fast athletes here and there but nothing compared to the top 15 programs in the nation who have a legitimate shot at the BCS playoffs each year. Its just a fact and I don't know if there is a real solution to the reality of BYU sports. We're kinda stuck in a state of mediocrity.
It's like the Jazz being stuck in Utah. Occasionally we get a Karl Malone / Donovan Mitchell but we don't attract the big time all star players like the top 8 teams in the NBA who have a legitimate shot at division playoffs each year. The Jazz are kinda stuck in a state of mediocrity.
I have become less stressed about sports as I get older and accept reality and just enjoy the fact we have a decent football team and pro basketball team to watch each year. Can't wait for both to start up again this fall and I don't have any false hopes that BYU will be playing on New Years day or that the Jazz will be playing next June. It's all good.
