...our southern border, blame him for income inequality, destruction of the traditional family unit, crashing birth rate and pending demographic free fall, the coming failure of social security, rising national debt, overspending by Congress, intolerance of free speech on American college campuses, etc.
With any job you inherit problems beyond your control and just come with the job. It takes time to work through them and effect your own changes to address those inherit problems. BYU has a history of hiring head coaches with caveats tied to the job. When Crowton was hired he was forced to keep on Lavell's staff of old tired, past their prime assistant coaches like Ken Schmidt as DC. It took Crowton time to replace them through attrition. When Bronco took the HC job he had to accept Anae (worked out okay for him). When Lavell replaced Hudspeth he kept on Kragthorpe, Olson, Felt and Helm, I'm not sure if those guys came with the job or if he retained them because he was already comfortable with them from previous years.
