I agree with you... Until you named Tom Holmoe as the real problem.

Kalani is a good head coach, and Tom Holmoe is a good AD.  The problem with BYU is the fact that it's BYU.  The Honor Code, and the fact that the university is 100% owned, operated, and controlled by the church is the single biggest limiting factor to BYU football.  It's also what makes BYU, the university, what it is.  If it weren't for the church ownership, and more accurately the honor code, BYU would have been in a Power 5 conference (either the Pac 12 or the Big 12) for the last 30 years.

Who do you replace Tom Holmoe with?  Who do you replace Kalani with?  Andy Reid is NEVER COMING TO BYU.  Darrell Bevell IS NEVER COMING TO BYU.  Kalani has made mistakes, and he's learning to be a head coach, but if you think for one second that Lavell or Bronco would produce different results with this schedule, then you're an idiot.  You can't play a truly P5 schedule wihout P5 money and recruits and expect to win 10 to 12 games.  With the current schedule and resources, 9-3/8-4 is a dream season,  7-5 is acceptable, and 6-6 shouldn't be a suprise.  It's not ideal, but it's not a fireable offense.

Courgar nation needs to pull their collective heads out of their hine parts and realize that BYU, in the current landscape of college football, isn't what it was in the 80's and 90's.  With the limitations that we have because of our ownership and control by the church, we should be grateful we can even field a team.
