I'd say it's not a loser mentality more or rather a realistic mentality...
BYU doesn't get P5 month... they won't even get P5 quality recruits like a P5 school... even if BYU joins a P5 we'd still struggle here.
You wouldn't take a job you weren't qualified for, as it would be a failure for you... that is essentially what Holmoe has done.... BYU isn't qualified for a P5 schedule... it's doomed to fail. I understand the ideal of having a schedule like that, but if you are being honest and realistic... this program isn't ready for it... and creating the schedule won't all of a sudden make BYU ready for it. You're just sledge hammering the square peg through that round hole.
BYU needs to get into the AAC. It's the best option for BYU now.

Steve Young admitted that he worked with Holmoe to get Detmer as coach.... That was a Tom Holmoe hire, not Sitake hire
