Watch UCF and Cincy get the P5 invite while BYU doesn't. This is the same thing
that the yewts did. Dominate the G5, win NY6 bowls, be rewarded with P5 status.
I'm with you. 7-5 or 8-4 records against multiple P5's mean absolutely nothing. Even 9-3 against our P5-heavy schedules would give us a forgettable bowl game.
Houston, Memphis, UCF, Cincy, and Boise State have been to a NY6 game within the last decade and IMO at least three of those schools all have a higher chance than BYU to join a P5

You cannot. No G5 team has ever played more than 3 P5 teams in a season. And 3 P5 games have only happened a few times

No. It’s up to the other teams’ ADs and their open dates. It’s just not feasible for a G5 team to a) create that much
