with our DB personnel & depth right now.
But I REALLY like the position shifts Kalani assigned to upgrade our speed. While Bronco's zone schemes were dependable against the run & at holding off the big-gainers, given our personnel & our schematically weak front, we really allowed opposing offenses too much time to impose their will. Kalani's gonna try (we'll see) to take that away. Philosophically, I like what he's doing--very much so.
As for Ty vs Anae--well, I love & believe in Ty, but really he has EASILY the most to prove on this current staff--in my mind, anyways. We're all hoping for the genius he was as the player & as the NFL clipboard coach, but really this is a whole new gig for him. HS HCing & NFL quasi-position-coaching can only prepare someone so much for a D1 OC job. Whatever Anae's faults, experience was certainly never lacking on his part. And I think his quality as a coach was sorely underappreciated by many fans here. Honestly, I've thought the team would've been better the last few years had he & Bronco switched positions (with Anae doing double-duty as HC/OC, of course--Bronco focusing on DC).
Fortunately Ty has a lot of quality & experience in his QBs & RBs, & a pretty well established OL core.
