Of course, there would be a slim chance of that happening. I think the prior staff would have won at least 9 games and the bowl game this year. So the new staff should be expected to do as well. They came in knowing a lot was expected and hit the ground running. They seem to have things pretty well under control. They inherited a solid, successful program and a good group of very good players, they say so themselves. They know much is expected and they intend to deliver, starting this season. No excuses needed.
There are many pluses and minuses to be considered in a comparison of the two staffs, too many to detail. But in some ways the prior staff was better, in some ways the new staff is as good or better. The new crew obviously has much less experience and is new to each other. But they all do have some good experience and ability and seem to be working well together so far.
A good start is and critical. We go down and beat Arizona and then go on a roll and win most of the rest. At least 9 wins plus the bowl win. A ten win season will be very successful start for the new staff.
