This board is only a subset of "fans." And I realize most of us don't know much compared to the players and coaches. That's no startling revelation.

But you're missing the point of my initial question. It wasn't to say our fans are worse than others. It wasn't to say our fans are experts. It wasn't to say players hang on our every word and take us super seriously.

It was a question about how much of an impact fan negativity had. I accept that "zero" is among the possibilities. It's laughable to not accept that it may have had some impact.

Even seasoned pros comment on how fan criticism hurts sometimes. We're oblivious if we think it never has an impact. Even at tame little BYU.
