El Jefe Get off my lawn!
Dish does have the best options for streaming on other devices (and away from home) of the traditional offerings.
I disagree about the others, though. Regarding the "lock in price", that's still only good for 2 years, after which you have to make sure you're getting the best price again. It's better than the cable promotional shenanigans, but it's still not perfect. Plus, you still have a contract with that.

I don't have any TV service right now. I have Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu (ad-free), and MLB.tv. I got MLB.tv through T-mobile, so that's free. We pay for Amazon Prime for reasons that have nothing to do with TV, so that's effectively free. So we're paying $22/mo for Netflix and Hulu right now.

In the fall, we'll probably subscribe to the Hulu TV package so we can watch football. I'll probably keep it active until basketball season is over, then cancel it again for the summer. Since cancelling doesn't involve long calls with customer service, it isn't a big deal to do so.

Plus what KingDave said above. I just prefer not to have contracts, it gives me more flexibility if needed. I've seen too many people stuck in ridiculous contracts for mobile and TV service.
