I think it was a stupid decision
I can't see any reason why it makes sense, even if he wanted badly off the team it doesn't make it a smart move. But it was obviously what he wanted, I will always be a fan and I wish him the best.

He's already 22, his arms aren't getting any longer, and he isn't going to be more athletic. By staying, he's losing out

Those guys drafted in this year's draft will still be around, however, as will next year's. It only gets more difficult.
