Competitive fire. The whole team looked uninspired. They were undisciplined and made mistakes constantly on both sides of the ball. The offense was historically bad, but the defense was really bad as well. The schemes were vanilla and unimaginative. the D was near the bottom statistically in turnovers, tackles for losses, sacks and third down efficiency.

7-6 should have been the floor. You are right that other programs have occasional down years, but coaches get the benefit of the doubt when they've had successful seasons in the past (see Michigan State), but Kalani does not have any of that.

In my estimation, v Kalani has one more year to get this straightened out. But if 2018 is a repeat, or near facsimile of 2017, and if the rumored problems with team culture are still there, he should be fired.
