...and not good last year, although they stepped up in some games and gave us chances to win in games vs Utah, Fresno St, (I'd even throw Boise St in there if we had had average offensive play), etc. The defense gave up 24.7 pts a game with a lot of that coming against some ranked opponents. That's not great but paired with an average to below average offense it's enough to win more than 6 games and be bowl eligible.

I'm sorry there's just no way you can cast the offense and defense in the same light. The defense was uninspiring at times but the offense was epic in how bad it was ALL the time last year.
