I would be fascinated to see how he comes up with those figures.
If it’s the usual methodology (taking what we make as an Independent now and subtract what we made in our last year in the MW), it’s terribly flawed, since everyone in CFB makes much more now than they did then.

As I see it there are six relevant revenue sources to think about: football ticket sales, football TV, bowl game, basketball ticket sales, basketball TV, NCAA tourney money.

In all of the six but one (football TV), a move to the AAC with Boise, for example, would be at worst a wash and likely provide a revenue boost. We’d have better opponents in LES for both sports, which would lead to better ticket sales, our basketball TV contract would be at worst a wash, we already play in crappy bowls (and now we would have a realistic chance at the NY6), and the AAC would produce significantly more NCAA tourney revenue.

Our football TV revenue would go down but there is no way in hades it would go down by $15-20M/year, since we make, at best, only a third of that per year as it stands now.
