BYU wouldn’t have a problem with this regardless, since it receives no state
funding and requires its AD to run in the black.
As of now our stated goal as a football program is to compete with the very best in CFB, yet we make much less than half the revenue that the “best” does. So if revenue is as important to success as you suggest, we are doomed to begin with as an Indy.
Our only logical recourse, short of a P5 invite that isn’t coming, is to go associate ourselves with schools who are in a similar situation, be successful there, and play for a NY6 bid every year where we will have a playing field against “the best” on the biggest stage.
