It's honestly not...
BYU, on average, is somewhere in the 5 million range. MWC and AAC is in the 3 million range per school. AAC believes they can double their TV money.
On top of that, the Playoff bowl system pays out each conference a sum of cash. Currently each team in the MWC, AAC, and other G5 conference get about a million each. BYU only gets $300K. So between TV revenue and bowl revenue... it's a wash.
