Teeples made some serious leaps in logic there
I'm no fan of putting football back in the MWC, but he definitely overstates how much revenue BYU generates because it's a football independent. Yes BYU's unsubsidized athletic revenues dwarf any other G5 school, but most of that revenue isn't TV money from ESPN. TV money is almost a rounding error in BYU's overall revenue picture. BYU has about a $3 million advantage over MWC schools - certainly a sizable amount but it's not the $25 million advantage that schools like Wazzu and Oregon State from their annual gift from the Pac12 media contract.

Without money you can’t get there. When G5 hits a economic bubble states can pull funding. BYU will remain free of that
