student-athletes, amateurs. Want to play against the same. Hate all the college players leaving early for the pros.
If I had the power to change things, I might make the rule something along these lines: any player that starts his post-HS career at a university is not elegible for a pro sports career until after 4 years have passed. Can leave early to work in a different field. The reason is this - that university is making a commitment to you and has to bump off another potential player for any player who accepts a spot. That has a ripple effect all the way down the line until finally, at the bottom, some kid at the lowest level community college is out a schollie or educational opportunity. I call BS.
If your be-all end-all is to play pro sports, then go away. Not interested. If you want to play pro but are committed to 4 years of college, then welcome.
