Look, I will be the first person to admit that Utah was very lucky. I admit
Utah wasn't the first choice for the PAC 10. I'm not a BYU hater. CFB didn't start for me in 2004, although you can say Utah's FB program didn't take off until 2004. I grew up loving BYU. In 1984 I had a life size Robbie Bosco poster on my wall in my room that I requested be painted in BYU blue. BYU wasn't for me (I don't like being told what to do), and I went to the U for school in 1998 and was there until 2005, and became a Utah fan - how could you not after a year like 2004? I've been following BYU/Utah football for a long time. I just don't see how BYU helped Utah get into the PAC 12. I admit that PAC 10 bias against conservative/religious schools likely kept BYU out of the discussions for joining the PAC 10, so perhaps you could say Utah got help from BYU in that regard.
