They gave up 26 pts a game and had a negative turnover margin. It wasn’t a terrible D but was not one of his better D’s at BYU. he certainly didn’t help Crowton out with his D, it got progressively worse each year until his 2nd yr as HC.

Actually a good offense is a tremendous help to a defense. Keeps them fresh
