I graduated in 2014 and agree with everyone above
BYU was everything for me growing up watching ty detmer all the way thru john beck my senior year in high school. BYU was where i would end up plain and simple. My parents even bribed me with a sports pass if I got my grades up (they were bad in jr high, but by high school thethey got me in)

But it became so much more than just a sports pass as I got there and had great experience after great experience. Met my wife there, had my first kid there, met lifelong friends there, and really became who I am today because of my time there.

I think about from time to time how hard it is to get into now and how my kids (all under 7) are really starting to realize how cool BYU is and how much it means to my wife and I and our families. It hurts me to think that they might not get in, and even tho all schools have great things about them it's not the same.

I even find myself longing to be back in Utah/Mtn west even tho my wife and I said (as we left BYU for Texas) that we wouldn't want to live there.

It's more than sports, it's more than school.
