I've gone back and forth on it, but it would be stupid to fire Sitake right now. The team is VERY young and shows potential. If we want the fastest turnaround possible, it has to be Sitake leading the way. Otherwise we enter another era of "rebuilding" and it's not like Andy Reid is beating in the door waiting to coach at BYU.
For those of you who argue that a lack of options is not reason enough to hold onto him, fine, let's compare him to our beloved Bronco... in this thread are mentioned several 8-5 and 7-4 seasons with a comparably difficult schedule. If you're happy with that, then great, let's try to get Bronco back because it was becoming apparent that that was his ceiling. I would argue that Sitake is improving and that he could match Broncos 7-4 or 8-5 season next year and maybe improve on it from there. That's the big difference; he seems to be improving, is willing to try different things and I like the trajectory that Sitake is on. None of this excuses mistakes that lost games this season, least of all the Utah game. But those are "sunk costs" and I believe that going forward, he is the best legitimate option for taking the team to the next level.
