The businesses who have lots of control of medical industry are getting as much as they demand right now because their services are essential. Do you think they will want less money if we are more healthy? In my opinion being healthy won’t make the cost of drugs or procedures cost any less, and if we are healthy most people will still want to live as long as possible, racking up the same medical care costs just at an older age.
What percent of people who can’t afford healthcare right now, do you think, don’t go to the doctor and offset their risk by being extremly healthy? I bet it’s a very low percentage. In other words you and I are paying for the health care of those you call, lazy and irresponsible slobs, in our current system.
To me the biggest benefits to Universal Healthcare are price control on the lowest level of the industry as a safety net and less lawyers. 2 big things I agree with.
