As when I'm in Moab I see very few of these overluxed vehicles on even dirt roads. But I see plenty of them in Costco parking lots, dropping kids off at lacross practice and pulling into heated garages of suburban cul de sacs, etc.

Again, maybe a few people do occasionally take these offroad but I'd wager that 90% of their drivers get them just because they want a really, really big BMW to run errands, and that the vast majority of these vehicles never encounter terrain more challenging than the occasional pothole.
