I really don't know enough to comment on individual models

If I were ever to get an offroad vehicle, it'd be the cheapest and most capable one I could find, not some tricked out luxury behemoth. I'll certainly grant that some are capable off-road, but I maintain that the vast majority of luxury SUVs never encounter terrain more challenging than a pothole.

GLS is the same platform as the WK2 grand Cherokee, I can't remember if the current gls has a low range.

Yeah, GLS can have the two-speed which is why I don't think BMW matched its capabilities.

Agreed, except the high end real off roader king is the g-wagon. Then the range, then LX570/200 series
