Should we accept a calling if we know we won't be able to "magnify" it?

Looking in my past there were times I was extended a calling and I knew I wouldn't have time to "magnify" it. EQP being the most obvious one. Of course I accepted the calling, but I was called out by the bishop all the time for not putting in enough time. It sucked and I wish(ed) I never would have accepted the calling.
