When a child with fever from unknown source presents to the emergency room under age one there are completely different pathways for work up. We call this incomplete vaccination or non vaccination vs fully vaccinated An incompletely vaccinated child requires more blood cultures lumbar punctures and longer hospital stays to make sure they're not going to have a disease that can kill them. Simply put they are more likely to die. So it matters quite a bit particularly under age one. So no I can't relax because now I have to do a lumbar puncture because parents elected to delay their vaccinations
