to just throw out the costs associated with a single incident is not really the way to try and address the problems with the HC system. THE US system is kind of a worst of all possible worlds situation. It is neither a totally free market system nor is it a nationalized one.

I know the last line was TIC with AOC, but it kind of hits the nail on the head. There is no single person or group of people that can "fix" the problem through top down management. Its top down decisions tht often lead to greater unintended consequences, and an exacerbation of the problem.

There was one place where Obama was right when it came to the discussion on health care in America, and that was when he (and others) discussed de-coupling health insurance from the employer. This would be a major first step in restoring market forces to the health insurance industry.

it is a much more cimplicated thing than just what I stated above, of course, but the answer is not more government control but less.
