The reason he chose Utah is because he went to the temple
this is coming straight from his brother's mouth. Kyle was a BYU lean, his entire family was convinced he'd go BYU. He decided to go to the temple to make sure, and he came out committed to be Utah's coach. His brother didn't give specifics about what happened at the temple, but he went in leaning BYU, and came out 100% committed to Utah.
