Are you basing this off the idea that drivers are responsible for collisions
with cattle on open range? If you are, I think that concept is dumb as well. It's not my job to pay for your stupid cow that you allow to wander around on public right of ways. I understand that's the law, but I don't like it.

If you hit a nice buck, it doesn't really take away from the public resource (wildlife). The state will still collect a ton of revenue on applications, tags and out of staters hunting licenses.

Hitting a deer with my car isn't any different than a cougar chasing down a nice buck in deep snow. It's already accounted for in the wildlife management plan.
