Sounds exactly like what happens with teachers in the classroom. My brother is
a state championship winning coach at a HS here in Utah and has seen exactly what you are describing. He also says he sees the same thing in the classroom. Coaches used to have more leeway than teachers but it is all changing and not for the better.
