Religion is NOT taught academically, meaning critically.
You are mistaken because it is taught from a position of belief, not classical critical study. None of BYU’s religion classes are taught academically. They are not allowed to do so.
There is no higher or lower criticism of the Old Testament.
We don’t teach the Synoptic Gospels, the differences in the autographs of the Greek New Testament.
None of the BYU religion classes would qualify at an academic university.
