I run a pediatric clinic and when we get older teens in with helicopter parents and the teen wants to confidentially talk to his/her provider about a below the waist issue, if the provider asks the teen if they're okay with the parent staying in the room for the conversation 99% of the time the kid is going to say okay because they are afraid to be honest in front of their parent (and then they don't bring up the below the waist issue).
